Gravitational Wave Astronomy and Astrophysics :

  • Searches for gravitational waves in LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory) data
  • ┬áStudy of gravitational waves from ground-based detectors to understand physics of exotic objects of our universe like neutron stars and black holes.

I have been working as part of the PyCBC ( Python analysis of Compact Binary Coalescence ) team of the Compact Binary Coalescence (CBC) group of the Ligo Scientific Collaboration. Our research projects concern offline analysis of LIGO data to detect and study gravitational wave signals from compact binary coalescence.

On September 14, 2015 LIGO made the first detection of gravitational waves.
